Electric Supercharger, Turbo.

what do you guys think, would these things work(anywhere near as well as what they say)?
(i know it dont apply to Starions)
they say they can do 37,500rpm and deliver over 500 CFM (cubic feet per minute).

Apparently it’s because they are ‘new’ technology, but I haven’t heard any car companies trying to develop anything like this.
Load of crap I recon, may as well put a fan on the air intake, do the same.
Still wanted to see what you guys views were on it, or if any of you had tried one.

If anything, your car will waste power trying to pull air through the big blockage in the intake. It probably flows 500cfm when tested on a car that flowed 600cfm beforehand.

If you were going to do this, I'd be tempted to make it myself rather than use some plastic thing off the net, gear it to suit the application and actually use a decent motor to power the turbine, not something out of a radiocontrolled car.

Autospeed did a review on the twin turbo zet which looks similar to this thing. Using a centrifugal supercharger as an example, for the supercharger flowing 265cfm and making 11.5psi boost it needs 14.5kw to drive it. For a 12volt electric motor to drive the above example you would need 1050 amps, which is would require 8 heavy duty alternators to drive it.

I love the wording on their website "up to 40 bhp guaranteed"
So if you lose 8 hp, thats still less than 40, as they guarantee!
Also it says 2.7psi boost (gen3 twin turbo), but doesn't state what engine it was on. It could have been fitted to a scooter or a mini. Not the Cadillac on their website I bet, it'd suck it up and eat it, literally.

If it was <$100, it'd make a good computer case fan. High air flow and a cleanable air filter, all in one handy kit, also shiny.
