The LTSA tested starions :o

Depends what you hit I guess, after hearing about an accident and having one of my own I'd say the starion is a fairly good car impact wise, doesn't fold as much as the other cars which is not always a good thing I know, but it makes sure you write off that other car.. especially if it's a honda.

Seatbelts in the doors cant of helped

pfft LTSA test cars, never, they're too cheap ass, thats why there is no percentages or star ratings. Its also why the Starion has the same rating as the CRX. Basically any car that can go fast, will be involved in more higher speed accidents on average, which means more people are likely to get injured. If I had a choice in an accident between a CRX and a Starion, I know which one Id chose.
The ratings were calculated from analysis of police reports on actual crashes in Victoria and New South Wales from 1987 to 2003 and in Queensland , Western Australia and New Zealand from 1991 to 2003. The ratings were calculated by a combination of the risk of a driver being injured in a crash and, if injury resulted, the severity of those injuries.
Correction - new cars are tested properly, and listed in a seperate area, but the LTSA didnt do the actual testing.

After seeing how much glass is in a older CRX i would hate to be in one in a crash.

it rates the same on http://www.howsafeisyourcar.com.au/
from what i gather it is the least safe car in its class (back in the day).
on that site it also has how safe it is when the car hits people(no testing done for the Starions). anyone care to donate a Starion or them self to test this?
