Looking to finally get insurance on the starion. I only realised that I've gone 7 years uninsured and it's probably time to get some.
What are the best options for TP Property Fire & Theft. Just Cars?
The usual players AAMI, RACQ etc won't touch me due to modifications.

I pay 298NZD for TP, initially it was 350NZD, cheap in my opinion.

Shannons have quoted $850 for comprehensive.
Just cars $550 TP F&T so I'll need to ring them back for comprehensive.
Unlimited mods but must be legal in both cases.

mods? stereo mods?
A lot of NZ insurance companies wont cover you for theft if your stereo is worth more than 10% of the vehicle which sucks. Like I got my car for $500, so the best sound system I should have is $50. My CD player itself cost over 10 times that.

Illegal mods? According to whom? Police? RTA? Insurance company? Is a front mount cooler legal? Hiflow turbo? That lovely grey area will screw you for about 90% of what everybody on here has done I reckon.

Ive had insurance with both GIO and Just Cars, Al it must be legal with vic roads as in all mods must be in accordance with the vehicle modification standards for that state ie vic roads RTa etc. With vic roads and the EPA one intake mod is legal so a IC is fine as long as no pod filter
