yes, being able to score such a car is almost incentive enough to live there, I'd even put up with gun totting maniacs.... almost :D

Ah hell, guns really are not a big problem. The news just overglamorizes everything.

I:d be more worried about trying to live with our republican owned news lol.

I just picked up a 87 flatty with 50k original miles on it for 150. Its missing the seats and a few other parts. I:m not a flatty fan, so I may part it, and try to restore this 87 wide body I am buying for 150.

Pics of my flatty.

I do admit, the us is definately the place for chea wide bodies. Thats one of the benefits of living here :) course importing rhd is about impossible....

I paid 650 for my widebody without a turbo or intercooler, 125 later it was running :)

Dont hate me for that, hate me for picking up these 2 87s for 300 bucks. 87 flatty, and then an 87 widebody I will put back together with the flatty parts :D

widebody, really isnt that bad. Needs paint, and an engine, which will kindly be donated from my 86 going 1jz,

Ok how difficult will it be to ship into the US a RHD Starion from abroad? Or better even a half cut front end of a RHD Starion?

half cuts are no problem, complete cars are about impossible

airbats, i never knew about starions having a chain driven cam system, is that purely with the 2.6 astron engines?

The only astron engine re had over here was the old 2.0, and that was in like the lat 70s early 80s trucks? Whenever they started releasing them.

The starion/conquest here used the g54b engine which is a g54 family engine, but it has the oil squirters, very tough crank, and forged rods. We were never blessed with the japanese dash engine, you the g63b wideblock. Every car from 1983-1989 was the 2.6 g54b here. I wish we had a g63b engines here, would be a hell of a engine with the 4g63 dohc.

Import laws are strict here due to all these crappy govt safety organizations. Even importing a car for race use only seems to be hard. Quite a few skylines get lost in customs becuse people think they can just buy the car and bring it home. Unfortunately, this f'ed up country doesnt work like that. Even if you didnt attend to import it for driving, you would find it a real headache to get the car. Clips on the other hand are easy to consider since they are just parts.

I've actually thought about omving up to canada, since they have a 15 year importation clause. A few more years and I can get myself a chaser or something..

I looked into importing a celica st205 gt four here a while back, and I figured an easy way tog et the car into the country would be to mark it as a race only car. Well they have recently revised some of those rules on race only cars as of late. They seem muhc harder to get through now.
