started off trying to work out what was draining my battery in the starion, but ended up ripping unwanted wires out from under the dash instead.. now this cable, the end with the plug which has 34 wires coming out of it was found going under the carpet on the passanger side of the centre console under the dash (if u know what i mean, kinda beside the radio).. from there, the wires are covered in a grey plastic and they went underneath the dash to near the fuses, where 3 of the wires which had fuses on them stopped (they were cut).. the other wires go down under the carpet along the beside the drivers seat (where all the other wires go for brake lights and shit) then the wires turn and go underneath the drivers seat where they were cut.
there was also 2 wires, red and black, most likely + and -, going from near the fuses to the same place as where the grey cable ends, cut off at both ends..
any one have any idea what its from?? and whats confused me is if they sold what ever it was connected to why not sell it with the wiring??
also under the carpet under the drivers seat i found the plug from the end of the wires coming out of the drivers side belt buckle, which had also been cut off at the same place lol..
Heres a pic of the end with the connector, the cut off end and 2 of the 3 fuses..
Whats this for?

how many/what colour are the wires? (pic's a little blurry)
After market for sure, stereo perhaps? going to an amplifier under the driver's seat using a high level input?
good way to tell is if there are pair of wires of the same colour, one with a stripe or mark to show it's -ve. purple, green, grey and white are common for stereos.
could be anything. if it's not connected to anything then get rid of it... i know dave pulled about 4 immobilisers out of a staz once, not one of them was connected but still tucked under the dash...
by the way... where are you David?

well, i cut the end open, and theres 2 strips of wires, 14 different colloured wires on each strip, but the 2 strips are identical.
no stripes on any of the wires.. but ur probably right, something to do with a stereo, but 28 wires going to what ever was under the seat?? plus the thick red and black ones too..
seems like a lot of wires for an amp, and yeah its definitely aftermarket cos they had about 10 cable ties holding in place under the dash lol
ripped it out tho, find more stuff to rip out tomorrow rofl
