Been debating on weither or not to sell the Starion so I threw it up on a few australian car dealer site, with in a few weeks ive got about eight emails saying same thing, "I went on the car site(whatever site it was) and I was interested in purchasing your car" I think about seven out of the eight continued to say, "Please send me your name, phone number and address so that we can send a check out immediatly." This is before they knew anything about the car didnt even see pics, or even knew if the car ran. Also they all had the same pitch, am located in UK (one from US) and had their customers interested in the car so they were going to import it for them.....fair enough but why would you import a car that you can buy locally? so anyways basically disregard the seven and email back the one guy who acctually asked something about the car, so I emailed him back and told him everything about it and sent him pics he emails this:
"Hello friend,
Goodday to you over there,i really appreciate your response.I like the car and am ok with the price($3,500) but i will instruct my associate to issue out cheque of (american dollas $12,000) for the charges and all rest things that you need to do and for the shipping,i have a reputable shipper that i always use they be in charge of all the shipping and the all the document that will be neccessary for the car.All you will do is when you get the cheque and cash it in your bank, you will deduct your money($3,500) and all the charges and send the remaining balance to my shipper that will come for the pickup and shipping of the car and also they will need the money to get the neccessary document they need for the car. After you deduct your money you will mail me back and let me know the balance. But i instruct my associate to issue out the cheque i will need your information and! the information that is:
(1) THE NAME AND ADDRESS THAT WILL BE ON THE CHEQUE
(2) THE COUNTRY,STATE,ZIPCODE AND YOUR PRESENT TELEPHONE NUMBER EITHER MOBILE OR LAND PHONE FOR FAST COMMUNICATION..
Thanks and have a blissful christmas and new year in advance.
I awiat your response..
Best Regards..."
basically the same email as I was getting from everyone else. So I figure maybe its real, email him back and ask him for his details, the details of the shiping company he goes through, why some one would import a car they could but locally, and a few other questions including the most important question, WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU TRUST ME TO SEND YOU BACK THE $8,500 US? and as the legitamate buisness man he is sends this back
"Hello,
If you know you want to do business let do business and never compare me with someone and aslo stop asking question about my personal life.Busines is business.
Regards.... "
So just wondering what kinda scam people recon this is, ANYONE what the crap is this? The only thing I can think of is people want my address so they can come and steal it. Has this happened to any one, any one any ideas?????????????? either way good for a laugh
(sorry so long)
