Optus isp probs

Post by decoy »

If there is someone you're trying to contact that havn't relpied in a whlie, chances are they are on optus (not sure if its just cable or dialup as well) but it seems people through an optus connection can't access austarion :(

"Its an optus issue. I just called them, and they can't access it through the
cable internet connection they had there." -Luke

I could not get austarion for 2 days both at home and at work so it was not just an Optus problem because I don't have it at home and we don't use Optus at work. It's only now working again for me at work this morning. :?

Im on optus cable. Just to let you know the source of the problem,

ISP's do a refresh on their DNS servers (the servers that translate austarion.com to a real address like 10.11.12.13 or similar). The last 2 times that Optus has refreshed their syd dns 1 and 2 servers, austarion didnt get refreshed for around 1 or 2 days, causing an outage.

You can get around this problem, pm me for details (i have to go to my home pc and get them tonight if you need to know)
