P-Plater cleans up another straight Starion

Post by goo857 »

Well, my baby got totalled yesterday when a tailgating P-Plater in a Commodore overtook me while I was turning right into a street. I'll have pics up soon (might need to get someone to host them). Hopefully I can avoid a writeoff, but I'll be without a car for a while.

Gee a P-Plater in a Commodore who thinks that they can drive!

That's something new! NOT!

What an absolute moron! :glare:

Just another incident to highlight the necessity of horsepower restrictions for P-Plate drivers.

Sorry to hear about your car man...

who says he had a high power car??
who says goo857's rear right hand indicator was working? im not saying it wasnt but if it wasnt and goo857 was going slow due to approaching the intersection the other guy may have thought goo857 was being smart cos he was tailgating and just decided to overtake at the wrong time not knowing he was turning..
who knows.. but i have been tailgated and overtaken by heaps of people that arent p-platers and also p-platers in cars with low horsepower figures..
so i doubt horsepower restrictions for p-platers would have helped in this situation cos it doesnt take a car with 600 horsepower to tailgate or overtake a car thats going slow/slowing down.

any way goo857 sorry to hear about your car.. and hope everythings repaired/replaced :beer

No one said he had a high powered car Starionboy, that's who.
However, less horsepower = less temptation to try something stupid.
People will always be stupid in whatever car they drive though, that's just the nature of things.

that sounds like u were saying the other car was a high powered car

i dont know all the details but i doubt high power had much to do with this as it could have been a grandpa in an old gemini that tailgated then overtook, so i dont see how horsepower restrictions would have helped this situation..

lol. nah, less power/bunkier means u will try more.. as u know ur own abilites are generally able to control the car, and if something happens, its only a low powered disposable shitbox.. :)

Thanks all. No word on what's happening yet. I've spoken to many people about getting a replacement Starion or shell, but I have to wait and see what Insurance thinks first :( . I hope this gets solved quickly. I use my car a lot, so life's been made majorly difficult not having one.

Freestyler - bagging a P Plater isnt about their age, its the attitude some carry.

I have been with some non P plate drivers and they scared the crap out of me with their blind stupidity and I have seen people like DEMOST on P's and he is both quick and safe. Mind you DEMOST actively drives in car club events (on all surfaces) and has learnt to control his car AND his head.

There is a lesson there for all. JOIN A CAR CLUB AND LEARN TO DRIVE, AS OPPOSED TO GETTING YOUR LICENCE.

:)
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.
