hey all.
Ive got myself a reconed non turbo 4g63 to go into my lancer along with a sigma gearbox.
Was just wondering what you guys thort of the moter and what mods where best to do.
Im not wanting to do a hell of alot to it, extractors, better carb, cam and maybe the ports.
Does anyone know if i can run a cosworth clutch with the sigma box, or weather the starion fly wheel is able to be put with these boxes?
The box i hav is a 5sp jap box

Cheers
CAm

an astron 4g63??

as far as i know the 4g63 is based on a Sirrius block the astron whilst simliar in some aspects is not a 4g63.

i could be wrong (it's happened before) but some how i think you're a little confused...

Don't get confused here guys. Caboon is one of our NZ brothers where sigmas are different to aussie spec ones. The 2L would be similar spec to L300/200 not an astron.

I think you have answered your own question as to what mods to do. I'd suggest pricing a starion turbo setup to put on it instead?

yup, sigma's, plus some L200's, L300's, and galants came out with sohc 4g63's over here.

good budget upgrade for a 4g32 EX lancer, bolts straight in pretty much.

well, i have done it. except i did the 4G63BT conversion for more tyre smoking fun :D

the only reason i said pretty much is because i'm not 100% sure about his gearbox, driveshaft and diff matching up. the engine mounts and gearbox mounts will be sweet.

cheers
Matt

yeah its a 4g63.Same as the l200.They are just a bigger version of the 4g32 satarn enigine.

Got the moter and gearbox all sorted. Its all running now and i just hav the get the exhorst welded up somtime this week.

I used the sigma cross member. This ment that the hole engine and gearbox sits back ferther than wat it would hav if i used the starion one.It meant that i didnt hav to get a drive shaft made up to fit.just used the standard lacer one.
The only bad thing is thay it meant i had tocut abit of the tunnel to allow the shifter to fit in.

But appart front that shes all ready to role.
Cost me about $200 all up.Not a bad upgrade at all.

Excellent, thats exactly the info ive been looking for, so with the sigma crossmember and the sigma gearbox, it all goes in no troubles? (except for the shifter hole, but thats no biggie)

yup she all bolts in.The only other thing that needs to be done is to put a sigma idler arm in.This means that the all the steering wont get court up with the cross member.
i orignally had a 1200 (4g11) and 4 speed box.

In short, the bits you need are:

moter.4g63 from gj sigma
cross member from gj sigma
5sp gearbox from gj sigma
gearbox crossmember from gj sigma
idler arm from gj sigma

You may also want to get the steering box and pitman arm off a gj sigma too.

Thats all you need.

easy
