How to upload pictures from your home PC for use on forums

Hey guys,

Please follow the url below and use the script to upload pictures. I will be monitoring how much traffic goes through as it uses my home internet connection so if it starts geting flooded then im going to have to lock it down for a bit (until the end of the month). Eventually it will be moved off the home internet onto the sever but it runs off coldfusion which needs special things installed.

It really goes without saying but, please do not give this URL out or ill take the page down. Starion owners/austarion use only. There is approximately 300mb of storage available for austarion use on my server, and if this proves to be not enough, then ill change the server it dumps to and we will have about 10gb available.

Purging practice, depending on the important of the images after 3 months images will be moved to a different server and i will notify you all of the server URL etc when i decide about it :D but if the main server doesnt get full then i wont move stuff around.

Lmao thats my bad. I cant believe i forgot to tell you guys what it does.

Basically follow the link above.
Browse for a file on your local machine by pressing browse
Type the name that u want the file to be in the second box (ie, mycar.jpg)
Press upload.

It will automatically dump it onto my webserver and give you the full URL to the file so you can post it in here and people can see pictures without whining about how to post pics :D

EDIT: So if you guys need to upload some pictures, can you dump them up using my upload script and let me know if you come across any problems :)

Dont forget u can use the img tags as well :D hope this helps people out now. And for your own benefit keep files smaller, itll b quicker to upload and wont annoy ppl by u guys posting links to massive pics. Doesnt worry me though, plenty of server space

bah u know how it is.. u try and download the latest movies from overnet and when u get them charlies angels is charlies anus... very unfortunate..so Id say no more then any other file leech..:P

I havent decided on a file expiration date, but i will be making a script soon to do so. Depends how much it is being used and all. Well basically at the moment its uploading to fr33z3.net which is my australian based host which i have 500mb available on. So once that gets to over 300mb used im ggoing to switch the script to dump to fr0z3ncartool.mine.nu ftp server which has over 10GB...but it will be a little slower.

I dont mind if you upload pr0n or whateva onto the server, no AUP, just dont give the URL out to other ppl :) hehe...ill also have to check how much this affects my personal usage, so sometime at the start of next month ill bring the public upload script down for the day and put up a big file, like 50mb or 100mb or something and see how much it affects my usage...i'll let you know though.

Basically if it affects my usage too much ill have to put a limit on how much you guys can upload each month, but if we are just doin pics and stuff i dont forsee it to be a problem.

hey guys,

just a quick note. It doesnt bother me at all, but just so you dont waste your time when you are uploading files, there are quite a few files that sum1 put up with no file extension, so you arent going to be able to view them. My work proxy here doesnt let me login to my ftp to change the file names, but ill change them to .jpg for you when i get home.

Tommorrow the new script will be up that will automatically check for an extension of image style (jpg, bmp, etc) and if there is no extension itll add .jpg to the end.

I'll let you all know when the changes have been made, and if i have time ill make the code look pretty :D
