wheel size can only increase 2inchs from stock, so 16's the biggest you can go, unless you can fake being a JD as they came out with stock 15in rims.

You can have any size wheels as long as the rolling diameter stays the same + or - depending on local laws (in qld you can go +/- 1" legally).

BOV is legal as long as it's not atmospheric venting. Can't see any problem with a front mount considering some Starions came with them factory. Tinted windows are fine as long as they have at least 35% transmission and a little sticker that says so. They probably won't look at that anyway as long as it's not really black.

uh, don't forget the basics either:

- Oil/water leaks
- Excessive steering linkage play
- Noisy exhaust, leaks
- Tyres, tread...
- Windscreen washers fully working/wiper blades...
- All lights, lenses not cracked, fully working. etc
- Seat belts
- Rubber pedal covers, yes the rubber things on the brake/clutch pedals
- Braking ability
etc etc

and before I forget, RUST, mainly underbody...

before you do anything I suggest u take it over the pits and have a checklist done, the 2nd time it goes over they pretty much check ONLY whats on the list... it's almost unheard of to pass on the 1st pass, so u may as well go and get the list... you'll find that they will ignore some stuff u thought u had to fix and find stuff u never even knew about... (ie: save ur money, dont do any work on it you dont have to).

I agree with Tmz_99 if you take it over once you will know what has to be fixed and the second time they really do only check those things. You might end up not having to fix a heap of things that you thought you would.
I took my mum's car the other day to get a RWC here for sale, it was a 2000 model kia Rio, They almost didnt pass it because they couldnt find the engine number on the engine.

what tint do u have sirius? cos thats what i got done for when my car was basically stock. windows can be tinted 35% everywhere in australia except sa which needs the front windows (apparantly to look at your side mirrors) at 75% (light coming in).

BOV has to go, or recirculate (still guidelines to it), if yours is an 82 JA your zorst has to be max 97db, if 83 or over 90db. Might have to put stockied back on, i'm not sure if you can get away with 17" if you claim later starions came out with them. some glitch there, not sure.

Definately check all the small things suggested like oil etc. I didn't pass regency first time because i had small cracks in my blake line hose covers. windscreen wipers, light alignment, steering wheel. depends who you get checking your car as well. make it as stock as possible for your first pass (as there will be a 2nd time) and see what happens :(

regency is south australias lving hell :( basically we don't have yearly inspections over here, but if we get defected for major problems (ie, not just bald tyres, light out etc) we can t go to the cop shop - we have ot go to regency where they do a full inspection....

you could cut the pepsi can open, (you foul pepsi wench) and wrap it around the BOV, when the cop askes just say "its a pepsi can" and leave it at that. rofl
