mods : Microtech Mt8, pod, 2jz cooler with 2.5" piping (wich blew off on one of the runs, of course the 1 hose i didnt replace) and 11psi of boost.

Car is 11ty billion times better off boost is an absolute doddle to drive low down now, idles great and pulls from 600rpm all the way up.

Huge thanks to dale for getting it tuned so well, he says that both LXS' and NXTime's cars exhibited exatcly the same pattern up high in the rev range so ill be giving camtec a call in a couple of weeks and get a new cam in, judging by the curve i should hope to see 130rwkw with the cam. He Also mentioned the injectors are starting to get pretty high in the duty cycle so no more boost was put in.

:D <- my face on the drive home

oh one of the highlights of the night was some clown telling me that there was no way a L300 manifold would not fit on the starion, he could not be swayed at all.

Why does the power drop off so much after 4300rpm and start to pic up again after 5000rpm?

i was under the impression that was the limits of the standard cam, dale said he saw the same thing in lxs' and nxtime's cars.

Yes I agree WHY????? The standard manifold setup should make max power around 5500 RPM.

What is your boost doing it's a shame you could not log that. Something fishy going on with that trace.

I would tend to think it overboosted around 4000 and then settled back to "normal" around 4900 RPM.

There is NO way you should be making more power at 4000 RPM than 5500 RPM with the standard TBI. SOMETHING IS WRONG!

mayeb its the tc05? it should not be spiking at all the way the bleed is set up

I thought you said somthing along similar lines to that back around when i met you cookie, about your car with the stock cam with the 4500mark??

Either way talk to LXS and Nxtime to check their dyno sheet and match em up.

TC05 that's the problem. THROW IT AWAY!!!! TC05 NO TOP END!!! Have a look at my web site on the "turbo page" and you will see why it does not go up the top, NO EXHAUST FLOW! :(

Why TC05???? :(

Anyhow I still think it's overboosting (spiking) around 4000 RPM.

Hey Congrats on the power! That's an excellent result. I think that's the highest figure I've seen without MPI.

I'm with mrb1 - I think the boost is spiking at the start of the run and tailing off. Most bleed valve setups will do this a little, unless its its a 'gated' valve or you're only increasing 3 or 4 psi. Mine certainly does, but its not a bad characteristic to have as long as the spike doesn't go dangerously high and the car is tuned to handle it.

CussCuss,
Standard compression ratio? What do you attribute the better off boost performance to?

Is that standard dump pipe too?

Not sure if the MT8 allows save to PC or not, but if it does, save some backups!
