No brainer! Can't understand why these devices aren't on the top of any racing drivers safety shopping list.

I've been fortunate to have come out of a serious rollover, & head-on into a concrete wall (2 separate incidents) while racing Formula Vee's back in the day, and when I started doing tarmac rallying back in 2007, my HANS device was the second piece of safety attire I purchased.

One of my customers walked away from a massive rollover at Perth Motorplex yesterday. Dragster was T-Boned by another car, turned hard left & barrel rolled atleast 7 times in the breaking area. He was wearing a HANS device & when I spoke to him this morning, the only pain he has, is from his knee, hitting one of the uprights.

This is what is left of the Motor/Diff/Gearbox, the chassis broke where it should, just behind the driver, leaving the capsule intact.

This the tractor carrying the rest of whats left.

So CAMS have decided to make HANS devices compulsory for State & above level events from Mid 2014.

Only down side is, they must be FIA cert, they wont accept SFI.
