My Dealer got in contact with me yesterday stating there was excellent opportunity to buy a white widey in Japan. The car was a one owner & with around 100,000km's...
Considering I found a great buyer regarding the black unit I recently sold, I thought I would get this one into Australia and offer the car for similar money....
My bid was 450,000yen FOB. About $5K initial outlay and around $9K landed.

It sold for 1,130,000yen FOB. Around $13K initial outlay and the rest when landed. Completely blown away and well and truly out of the ball-park. Here's proof that Starions are fetching excellent money in Japan!!

Apparently it seems a dealer has bought the car at Auction and has added a further $5-6K to the auction price.
So the list price is now 1,580,000 yen ~ AU$17K to buy only.

I think with dealers buying these limited Starions and adding their profit margins is kind of creating a false economy on these cars. Or perhaps they know something we don't??
It would be interesting if it sells in a suitable time frame...
J-spec have another one-owner silver widey featured for around $17K landed....

I suppose if I was looking for a quality widey, I would probably show interest in these. Still a fraction of the cost what a collectable Ford/Holden would fetch!

^^^I have seen VIN's as high as #801, with #736 being the second highlest I have come across.
And for us Aussies, less than 300 are eligible to be imported under the Pre-1989 import rule. So, I would say that there would be less than 150 in the available pool - if and when they come up for public sale.

And the lowest VINs I have seen are #13 and #16.

825 Widebody 2.6's (a187)
73 Widebody DASH (a184)
Is the correct information.
