Wakefield Park Super Sprints 4th July

Post by Camotec »

Hey All,

Well Steve (Dirty Sanchez) and his Starion did very well on this day taking 3rd outright against a lot of fast cars. He drove very clean and consistantly through the day pulling 1:16's most of the day. with a best time of 1:15:85 Way to go. and thats with a stock sr20det motor and 180sx harness.

Jamie (Dirty Sanchez #2) and I watched all day and waved flags with different patterns on them around to confuse the other drivers as we took up a flag point mid circuit. I managed to record 2 hours of video of the weekend and which will convert to about 30mins of usable video. It will be uploaded in a few different movies to allow people to see Steve and the other cars in action.

One of the videos I will be uploading is of the Starion up against a Rally bred Celica GT4 which was finding it hard to keep up.

Towards the end of the day LxS showed up after sleeping in and we finally got to meet her in person. Caw shes a great gal. and her widebody only looks nicer than the photos in person. a very nice body and she sits beautiful, and those headlights.... caw she turns heads too. oh and Alexis is a stunner too hehe.

Unfortunatley I didn't manage to get out on the track this event due to Cams License Issues. (I dun have one anymore!) but I am looking forward to a free track day coming up on Monday 26th July at Wakefield where I will be going out to get a bit of prac time. and my Cams license is in the mail too.

Thanks to Alexis for making the trip even though we didn't really get to chat for very long. :)
So if anyone can make this track day and wants to give it a go.... Come On Down!

Cheers.

Top effort DS. 3rd outright! Did they put him in Type SV for the SR20DET?

I didn't get my act together for the 4th (nor the 7th). My car is only partly tuned and the dyno shop I used was closed until mid last week, but I'm booked in for a dyno session this Sat, so hopefully will be ready for the 26th *fingers crossed*.

Ben,

Was great to finally catch up, sorry about the short visit, the drive back was a killer!

Next time you organise something would we all need a CAMS licence to get onto the track? It would be nice seeing more than one starion out there.
BTW: Does oran park/eastern creek do skid pan days?

Ben - I'll turn up so long as nothing unexpected breaks between now and the 26th - I'm going to put in for leave at work tomorrow.

LxS, you need a CAMS license to enter a CAMS run event like the Supersprint, but you can usually join the hosting club + pay for the license on the day of the event, depends on the club hosting. For practice days, you can get a Wakefield license as the day is run by Wakefield Park. Its all just for insurance/liability reasons really until you get really serious with racing.

Oh my looks like somthing happend on the day thought steve was 3rd.

What were you driving Dave is it? was it that swoit sigma?

Most of the Wakefield Park track days are a pay per visit event where you can go for a blast around the track good for practice.

BTW does anyone want to film on the day, I will film but would like to get out there and have a bash aswell.

Cheers
