sorry i spell badly

can their be anythnig more dum than revving the shit out of your engine trying to blow it up
why is it 400 meters long
Gee it must be hard to driive in a strait line :wtf:
You may as well just sit in the garage wif your foot on the floor waitin for the car to blow up cos that way you wont have to fix you clutch or anything else just the engine

Can't say i've ever blown up my engine racing before
Nor have i broken a clutch either.

It is 400 metres long because its 1/4 mile.

The skill involved is to have minimal reaction time (0.3 seconds is ideal)

Have you ever been in a drag race before?

Are you female?? :?

gota correct u a bit parrdox sorry dude...best reaction time possible is a .4...any thing less than this is a red light...

i dont even know why u would write a question like this, its a form of racing, some people circuit race, some people drag race...people drag race there cars to see what there cars are capable of... there is a skill involved with getting your launch right...to much rpm loose traction..not enough an you bog down...you got to have a good reaction when racing some one...huge difference between a .4 an 1.0.....got to get off the line as quick as you can, an make each gear change as quick as possible at the right rpm....with any form of car racing or even giving your car a bit of a boot on the street could result in something giving way...hell even starting your car up in the morning there will be a chance that something could go wrong.... but if you are going to think of that....your better off riding you push bike around or catching a bus...a turbo car is definatly not for u....

drag racing is a very different mind set, and to some extent, skill set to circuit racing, and both are a world away from rallying.

each to their own.

i can tell you though that they all require endless hours of preperation time and effort (did someone mention $$$)

ask someone who has done it if it's easy to get a vehicle down a drag strip under 10 seconds if it was easy. i somehow doubt it.

actually .4 is the go any less you red light and lose! there are 4 tenths of a second between lights so when the last amber comes on there will 4 tenths to the green, a perfect light (leaving on the green) has to be .400

reaction time is measured from the last amber...

who cares about .4 s . why would you spend megala $$$ to drive only 1/4 mile and the race only goes for like 20 secons wow how excitiing

I seem to remember Kwinana motorplex is .3 seconds.
I remember being happy cos i got a 0.301 seconds and didnt jump.

that was a year and a bit ago, i could be wrong.

they probably measure it giving a 0 from the green.

You dont have to spend heaps of $$$ to go out to the dragstrip, have a bit of fun and give the car some stick legally, race your friends and see how fast the car is.

Then again, having an awesomely fast car that will rearrange your organs is worth it to some people, personally i want both the straight line and cornering.
