Hey Bro's!
A heads up to those in Christchurch - I will be in town for a few days from Wednesday 25th until Sunday 29th July. I'm staying at a hotel in the CBD with some friends, but I have a bit of free time and wouldn't mind to meet a few of you and talk Starions...and stuff ;)
Some local advice on the do's and don't's is appreciated :beer :party
Charlie :)
PS. I have a decent baggage allowance so I might be able to bring some stuff over...

Do - Duck and Cover.
Don't - Grab the table, start shaking it and yell 'EARTHQUAKE'.
;).
Would be good to meet you though man, I'mm PM you my contact info. I'm pretty full on with Uni these days, but can make that pretty flexible :).

I'm hitting Sydney on the Thurday morning for the same period, first time there any advice/things I must do? I don't expect to be very sober during this time but am capable of getting around and about.
As for here, its going to be very quiet in the cbd, I didn't realise a Hotel was even open in there, are you here to ski?
Any nightlife to be found will have to be in the suburbs now, Riccarton, Addington and Merivale, (earthquke ruined town so even locals won't have a real good idea whats open or not) day trips involve Akaroa or Hamner Hot pools which are awesome in winter.

Not going there to ski, but I have a function to attend on Saturday afternoon and night.
Should have at least one night free for a get together.
We're staying on Sherbourne St.
I think we will be going to the Hamner hot pools ;)
As for Sydney...you must do the bridge climb...would be even better if you weren't sober...although not sure if they do a breath test before they let you go up :D.
Then there are the other usual tourist spots: Sydney Tower, Opera House, Circulay Quay walk, Ferry to Manly, trip to the Blue Mountains (best by car).
Nights: Darling Harbour, Rocks, Kings Cross (although can be a little hostile, a popular club spot).
As for the car scene...Saturday night from 6pm...Harry's Cafe Liverpool has a monthly informal car show/cruise meet up that is popular. (Cumberland Highway, Orange Grove)

Ended up doing the Lord of the Rings scenic tour on Friday. One of the shots I took with my phone:
Unfortunately, couldn't meet any of the NZ Starion guys this time, but I will definitely be back. :beer

Went to a few of those places, yet to met a hostile Australian. We had a shit load of fun in your beautiful city, we will be returning without doubt. We were based in Cheswick at a mates place, I bet the neighbours are glad we have moved on though.
