To track or not to track

Post by niss720 »

Should I turn my Low Km starion into a track car or sell it and use another shell?!
It has only done a genuine 49,000kms and I dont know if I should rip apart such an old car with a neat interior..

What do you think track or not?!

I said no.

There are plenty of starions around that would take alot/too much work to be turned into good streeters, yet they would make the perfect unregd race car.

What Thrash said! That is a much better Idea, or buy the 2 cars in Brisvagas that the owner wants not much for, Don't remember how much he wanted.

Post some photos of this car and show us what we are all wanting to save from the track!

Cheers Jason

It would be registerd still but probily would only see the road occasionally as it will most likely have a Evo 3 4g dropped in

I said yes but then read your post and want to change it to a NO. I didn't know it was a low km car. Keep it in prestine condition unless you really want a reliable base and are set on making a track car.

Is it a confirmed low km car & not just a broken odometer drive or something? It's probably the lowest k's starion in aus if genuine. But to be worth anything to a collector it has to be dead original.. Not blue..
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

I looked at your car after posting here last night. And consequently wish to change my vote to yes. the kays are a bit irrelevant now as the car is no longer original. Do what you want to it, as it is worthless to any collector.

What sort of track work do you want to get into?

Yea that is what I was thinking that it's not worth anything being a starion, and yea it's original k's has log books and all.

Sat in a shed for 20 years and them sat in a paddock for te remaining 10
Interior is very neat apart from the drivers seats didnt appreciate the sun

In saying that does anyone way a low km engine ?

I didn't realise it was the blue one. Yeah track it. My Widebody was 58,000k when I got it. Now only 115,000. But I like to enjoy my car rather than stairing at it.

it doesn't matter that it's blue. The colour can always be changed back.

In another 10 years when there are only 20 starions left in Australia, you'll kick yourself for tracking it instead of keeping it in its low km state
