Speed cameras in Victoria

Post by Alspos »

Hey all, just some information on speed camera locations in Victoria, Police are obliged to supply a listing of locations of mobile speed cameras on a weekly basis. Click the link, open the spreadsheet and have a look through the info. It won't tell you what day or time cameras are in places, just that they will be there some time.

P.S. Of course, don't speed. *Public service announcement over*

P.P.S If you see one set up outside your house, park a car in front of it. I hear the operators get a bit annoyed with you if you do :D *Civil disobedience announcement over*

Yeah, they've been doing this for a couple of years.

But it wasn't called the BS name that it has now...I'll see if I can find it.

Anyway, I investigated the spreadsheet, doesn't tell you where, but basically in a suburb they focus on two locations; one place for one week then the other for the second week and rotate.

They also radio these pricks and move them when they're not getting good results in any particular location.

Nah, can't find it, looks like there's a bunch of new sites now anyway.

The spreadsheet is the same and I studied them for a few weeks to see the pattern. Check out your own area for a while and you'll see what I mean.

Further to all this, and not just Victorian motorists, I've got to say that
it's plain revenue raising and totally illegal for them to collect these fines.

Are there any registered members of the Police force on this forum?
Because if there are, they so know it!! Prepared to own up...?

For more info check out http://www.aussiespeedingfines.com/

If that isn't enough for you also visit http://www.clrg.info/fines-are-unlawful/

It's time for us all to become informed instead of ignorant. This is exactly what they pray on. *end rant*

Think you're doing the internet wrong Frank, link works for me :P

That aside, they used to publish a list on Heraldsun website but it has stopped. I emailed and asked why, no response so far.

If it wasn't legal someone would have exploited the loophole by now and they would have shut it just as quick. The way to make it uneconomical for them is to fight any fine you get. Send letters, drag it out as long as you can, the more letters, the more busy they get. If you can, take it to court and clog the court system. Then they would have to make the limits a bit more reasonable. Doing 80 in a 60 zone I can cop, getting done for 64 in a 60 is just plain bullshit.

I live on a street where they set up a camera. I also have an old street sign that just happens to have "Speed Camera Ahead" written on the back of it. If I see the mobile, up goes the sign on the tree out the front. Fluck 'em. If they're dumb enough to set up and park out the front of the house, I have to clean out the carport and the cars get parked out the front. Fluck 'em.

Checked again...it works now!!

Yes you are right Al, dragging it out to clog the courts is the whole idea.

You'll get me started in a minute.

The Police are a business. They share the revenue with the government departments. The enforcement companies are also businesses.
And most are not even properly incorporated.

It's actually an offence against your civil rights for any of these groups to hit you up for parking and speeding fines, permits, and the list goes on...

Things such as "unfettered right to use the roads and carriageways...in fee simple on real estate transactions", ...it goes on.

Whilst the government of the day are announcing changes to include Aboriginals and TS islanders into the Constitution, they are also making other changes in an attempt to further remove our civil rights but not telling us about any of that.

We're in deep shit if we ever become a republic!
