Well some of you know my poor old house and section got badly damaged by the Sep 10, Feb 11 and June 11 earthquakes. We lived in the house even though we had no water and sewage since Feb, but 4 weeks ago bought a house a block and a half away and moved in.
Well today was a bit of a mile stone... we finally moved the last thing from the property... My Starion!
Even though it had sat in a foot of silt for the last 10 odd months covered in silt I drove my Legacy around there, poped the bonnet on both cars, hooked up the jumper leads and WHAMMO my Starion fired up first time! Not bad I thought :)
I jumped in and took it for a drive, everything worked perfectly! So so happy! :beer

Because we love the area so much, nice and quite area, tree lined street, near the river, 100 year old character homes. What's not to love. The house we bought didn't have much earthquake damage, and it was all fixed up before we even looked at it, plus we got a bargain on the place.

You must be stoked to have water/plumbing again, bonus about the car.
I haven't touched my widebody since the Feburary quake, might slowly get back into it over the next couple of days.
Remember water restrictions, wash it on the grass.

Yeah so so stoked to be able to shower, go to the toilet, wash the dishes etc in my own house rather then relying on others!kiwieurospec wrote:You must be stoked to have water/plumbing again, bonus about the car.

Water restrictions... We had no water for 8 months, only showering 2-3 times a week if we were lucky, paper plates etc... I don't feel bad washing my cars on the wrong days :D

Although the best thing of the lot is being able to poop in my own house. Over 8 months of using a port-a-loo, through the big snow storms having to walk out on to the street and dig the door out, through the council not cleaning them out for weeks at a time, scorching hot smelly days, sharing them with whoever.
It's bliss being able to sit in my own toilet, take my time, knowing it's clean :beer

as i read what you just wrote, i'm laughing, but i shouldn't be, because i'm very familiar with your situation.. not due to an earthquake in my case, but by no means a pleasant situation even without the quakes.

I don't mind people laughing, neither does my partner, we both think it's kinda funny!
The only reason we didn't move was due to 2 dogs, 4 cats and a rather large fish tank... not easy to find a rental that would take cats let alone our small zoo :P
Honestly people used to come round to our house and they would comment it felt like one of their legs was considerably shorter then the other, the house was on such a lean! LOL
Went down to the local BP and filled up a fuel can with 98 octane as the Starion was almost out of gas... and I would hate to think how long the fuel had been sitting in there. So in went the gas, battery was dead flat again, got the jumper leads and BAM fired up first time again :D Let it run for quite a while giving it a rev, no smoke at all! So so hapy about that! So I guess that means that the DASH block the guy put in is in decent condition.

Get one of those new chinese TD05-16Gs off trade me. You can get a starion exhaust housing modded to go on the back of it so you dont have to muck around with a new dump pipe.
