I hate crashes like this that take legends lives. This was a bad one...you might want to think twice before looking it up.
Marco Simoncelli was one of my favourites. Ballsy rider, unlike Ayrton in some ways. Will be surely and greatly missed.
Moto GP will be much less without him.

I'm not a motorbike guy by any means but have recently found MotoGP to be about the most entertaining motorsport on TV by far.
He was surely a very major star of the future, very sad news. RIP.
My heart also goes out to the rider who hit him, nothing the poor man could do.

October 2011 will be remembered as a dark month in Motorsport history.
RIP Marco
Would like to see the crash analysis on his helmet, to see if there was an issue there .

The helmet got torn off by the front wheel of the bike he went into. You can see it in the video (albeit you have to slow it down to frame by frame). Also you can see he's either unconscious or dead when he hits the pavement, his whole body is limp as it slides along the tarmac.
Not a good way to go
May he rest in peace.

Just a reminder that freakish accidents happen and motorsport is dangerous but safer than the roads.
RIP Marco

I was just thinking this...
I mean honestly would his team/Moto GP officials let him out on the track with an ill fitting helmet? I would certainly hope not.

Helmet issue or not, an accident such as this was never going to end well...
RIP Marco

Was a shocking accident and such a shame a young life with so much talent still to be tapped has gone too soon. I feel for his family, friends and the other riders so innocently involved. God knows if Edwards and Rossi couldnt avoid the impact then no one could have - both are experienced, talented riders.
Whilst sad, let me say this. If you asked any of these guys who compete in high risk sports, none of them would want to die doing what they do but moreso, none of them would want to die not having done it. They live and breath their sport, its what sustains them and completes them. They accept the dangers and face them head on. Most times they win, sometimes they dont. Unfortunately when it goes majorly wrong its never a good outcome.
