My new ride

Post by Vulpes »

What the hell :o Just got my Supra turbo yesterday. Dead orginal in almost as new condition with a documented and original 52,000 on the clock. Drives like a new car, smooth, powerful, incredible. The starion has been retired to a shipping container.

1989, where do i post pics again ? As for my tax refund....Huh ! I was wondering how my accountant did it. Turns out he simply was able to push a heap of income into the next year so in reality I get nothing back just 27,000 of my own money back for a year then I need to pay them. Still better earning 7% in my mortgage than that red headed, large bottomed communist having it and wasting it on pink batts, BER's or outdated NBN's I guess.

If it has a 7m-gte, rip the head off and put a cometic headgasket it in quick smart.

If it's one of the super rare 1jz versions, you're lucky.

Vulpes is yours a 2.5L twin turbo or a 3.0L single turbo?

Yeah, the 7m-gte are bad for doing the head gaskets. Dont think the factory ones are much good. Some ARP head studs might be a good idea too if your going to wind the boost up.

Metal head gasket & arp studs fixes the 7M up :) I wouldn't bother with the metal head gasket without the studs.

They also tend to wear the cam tunnels if they've been caned when cold!

1jz doesnt suffer from these problems :)

I've come across a few JZ motors with BHG's - just not as common as the 7M's but it still happens. What is it with Toyotas and BHGs?
