Nothing is broken, just you are :)

the "MySQL server has gone away" error is
caused by a query longer than the max_allowed_packet.

So either the max_allowed_packets can be updated in the MySQL database or just don't search for so many parameters.

Lol... I wasn't searching, I was posting, that'd be a hardcore search string.

Maybe I need to turn my computer upside down to be compatible on this forum...
