My sympathies to the japanese people (and foreign nationals of course), looks like a frightning situation.
My wife and I have booked flights and accomodation for a well earned break in japan leaving wednesday week. Will wait to see if it's totally off or if we can just lay low down Osaka way instead. Was looking forward to having more time in Tokyo than our last stay, even have (had???) tickets to Tokyo round of D1.

Dave hope your family is alright and youve made contact

It's so sad to see...
I know how they feel with regards to the quake part of it... however I'm so gratefull that we didn't have the tsunamis.
The center of Christchurch is well below sea level so it would have ruined Christchurch.
Just seeing the the speed and distruction of the tsunami was heart breaking... seeing people swept away. :(

He was a lucky guy though, he planned on going to the beach (he has moved 2 hours south of tokyo recently) on friday, but couldnt as he was laid up in bed with the flu!

I agree. It is written in a clear easily understandable way so that the average person can grasp how the nuclear power stations work.enthuzed wrote:A top read. Nice one Dave!
Good to hear Tony is safe.

good article to read - clarifies a lot of the media hype and bulls%$# like Today tonight who were spruking about the imminent meltdown.......... it is just poor journalism to hype up such an event - better to downplay it or at least keep it factual. :)
