Thats 21.8 mpg (I dont understand L/100km) :) Its obviously tuned for power, not economy, as you can't have both.

Lee has it on wideband and tuned for economy between 2-3000 rpms

Thats 12.93 litres per 100k's... that's pretty high.
Not comparible but my 1500cc sohc Mazda does about 7 litres per 100k's around town and it does better on the open road.
My old Evo1 with only filter and exhaust mods on the open road did about 8-9 litres per 100k's depending on whether it was around town or on the open road.

Also depends what weight was in the car, fat tyres, camber and toe in and so forth. And how "spirited" any overtaking was etc.
I do recall I got around 650 km or so on 70 litres once upon a time, two up with one bag each just freeway cruising not in a hurry.

I agree. AFR should be around 15-16:1 for real economy driving which would see you at about 8Ls or so per 100k's

Remember it has cams and a TO4B/GT35 + 870 CC injectors and a 3.9 diff

is an afr of 15-16:1 safe for a hipo engine, even at low loads?

at cruise, yes.
engines get killed from detonation WAYYYYYYYY quicker than from lean mixtures..
thats good economy from something as cammy as your car Rad...

13 liters/100km is acceptable on a car with that kind of power.
But... at low loads/cruise you could lean it a bit and still be safe!

I think the 3.9 is the issue here. You need another gear :)
