When Colin Bond was rallying a RS2000 Escort for Ford there was a spectator stage at the local speedway at a country town in NSW?? Bondy won the stage breaking the lap record for the track , rally set up complete with all driving lights and rally tyres.
The local champion aparently was pissed off about being knocked off by a driver who had never been there before and in a car that was not set up for speedway so he went out to try to regain his record and promptly put it into the fence

The names "Bond" Colin Bond. Sucko to him rofl

Colin Bond is a driving genius. Probably one the best, if not the best, allrounder Australia has seen.

Anyone who saw him drive or the lucky ones to have driven with him in his heyday all bow to his skills.
