if you're really really lucky a dealer will have one.....but hold on to your wallet if they give you a price...

Fix what you got...unless it's open circuit then it needs replacing.

Or multipoint :)

I think I have some if you get stuck.

Am in NZ, but shouldn't be too expensive to send across the 'dutch'

so why are they so rare? Can you get them in the U.S?

they're rare because they have a design fault that made them get used up quickly. and new ones from mitsu were over $600 each. no one has ever made aftermarket versions either. not enough call due to to so little of these cars sold new here.

basically the rubber wiring grommet in the side of the injector body where the wires come out goes hard and they leak out the side. usually after you rebuild the throttle body and disturb the wires.

The only year we got the JA equivalent was 1983. So highly unlikely. BUT if you can come up with a part number, I'd give the local dealer a try. They know me by name, lol.

My mate who has an 82 starion has two complete spare ECI's but wants to get new inj's. I guess it is a lost cause to have the JA. guess I'll have to get one of the ECI's and homogenise some other inj's into it. :D
What size cc are the factory inj's and what resistance do they run at?

best option is to get a JB intake manifold and some new 86/87 starion injectors from ebay. you can run this setup from a JA computer, i've done it. JA and JB injectors are the same size, 850cc. all you really need to do is make an adapter loom from the JA injector plug to the JB bosch type ones.

Are there any pictures of both systems?

Hey Dave,

Does the 'type B' injection set-up bolt straight onto a JA inlet manifold??
These things are constantly for sale on US ebay. I wouldn't think the 2.6L inlet mani would work with a 2L one!
If so, this may be a good alternative/conversion for JA owners,( type A injection) to type B, as there are many parts available
such as the aftermarket 850cc injectors, rebuild kits and injector plugs on the net!!
In fact, we have seen a Dash set-up with type B injectors planted on.... :beer

vr4gone,

If you want to run a JB setup in a JA, it's not a problem and I can help you with the wiring. I'm currently running JA injectors in my JB and they work fine.

cheers,
JPC
