Aussie looks flat as a tack after driving on the west coast mountain roads with my navigator hanging on and urgeing me to slow down more than once although it may have been more but must have had flat batteries in my hearing aids or selective hearing loss LOL
The east coast is totally different being very flat with heaps of looooong straights .We measured one and it was 12 klm long and there may have been even longer ones!!!!!!!!!!
We had a memorable helicopter flight over Fox Glacier in the smallest H/C
and the views were unforgettable
Anyway it's a great place to visit and hope to go again in winter to see the alps covered in snow
Can't reccomend it highly enough :D :beer

sounds like a worth while trip. I did the south island in a hire car once. Very twisty roads and I lie not that I almost wore a set of front tires out racing this thing through the country side. I too hope to go back but to the south island as it was beautiful in September.

Good to hear you had a great time Rad. You must come back in winter tho as its beautiful with the snow on the mountains. Especially in Queenstown. Did you see any other starions on the roads?

I must say that the Lewis pass is my fav place to drive too.... lots of 2nd and 3rd gear banked corners mmmmm yummy :D
The only thing that lets the roads here down are those damn one lane bridges. Sux having to stop and wait for cars coming the other way :( But they are slowly getting rid of them.

Only saw 3 .Your 2 + the white one I spotted when you were driving us back to our hotel .Did you manage to track down the owner ?
Saw and heard a VR4 in Duneden full of yobbos doing laps getting up it in 1st &2nd just to hear the blow off valve
In cristchurch we hear a bridge ported rotary brap braping and around the corner comes a yellow Triumph 2.5 pi .This has got to be one of the most unlikley engine swaps :o
