how much power gain would one get from dropping in an SR20DET and how much is the new mounting going to be (im assuming the mount points will be different)...ive been looking for a better engine to drop into my beast.

how big is ur budget? if ur going to leave the mitsubishi stable for another engine, ur price/power ratio wouldnt beat a rotary turbo conversion.

Don't be too quick to discard the lowly SOHC 4G63.

OK OK, I admit, it's no 180SX but it still has potential.

That's a cheap car. The engine and gearbox combo are worth nearly $3k, plus the microtech.

It's hard to beat a 13BT on the power v's speed equation but at $4k it's cheap and very fast.

The SR20DET goes in on the factory mounts and only requires redrilled gearbox crossmember. It also puts the turbo on the other side of the engine bay away from the brake and clutch stuff but requires the exhuast to cross under the car to come out on the correct side. I bought mine off a guy in Melbourne and the lunatic had all that grunt and had seized front brake caliper - and an open centre diff!!!
