The car is a genuine Evo III , I've no doubt that a Starion with a similar engine with the RIGHT GEARING would be just as quick (just not off the line!).mitch wrote: What car do you have that runs 11's?. What sort of power could i achieve if tuned properly?
How much power ?? That (as always) just depends on how much you want to spend and also how driveable and reliable you want it to remain .
Over 1000hp at the flywheel is easily gotten from these ( eg. Rob Barac , APC , & a couple in NZ.) but to be reasonable , you could have say 450 - 500hp and still be streetable . Just the required clutch would be a bastard......
But honestly , even 400hp is pretty bloody quick . What would you be using all this torque you want for anyway?

There are ways around the gearing problem without spending a fortune . The idea would be to get the Engine done first and then take it from there.
My Starion doesn't have any where near the power of the Evo but because the torque and power come in so low , most people who ride in it ask if I've put a lower ratio Diff in it .

if all you are after is low end torque do the 2.6, if you want a good comprimise between horsepower and torque, I thikn the 4g64 is the perfect engine.
Here are some dyno numbers of a 4g64 and 4g63. on a gt35r
Heres one witha g54b running30lbs, only had a 3 bar map so past 30lbs was unmetered air.
2.6l has enough low end torque and super quick turbo spooling tog et your panties wet.
