did it fail to turn into a giant spider or fail to eat the kids?

it fialed to eat the kids man, I cant remember the end, it was either hit by a rock or a mirror or a crusafix, something completely normal for a 30ft spider to be killed by..(well, at least it wasnt a 100ft newspaper).
