Can anyone suggest an excellent 215/65 R14 Tyre

Post by Starion_Turbo »

Hey

I'm up for a pair of new front tyres as my old ones are soon to become rears. Im using 215 / 65 R14.

Ive scoured a few brands but found nothing overly insperational as far as tyre patterns go.
I'd like to try something directional if anythings availiable.

Have the following as whats availiable, if you know of any that arn't there and are worth considering, post up here.

options in 215/65 R14:

Bridgestone Turanza ER592
Firestone Firehawk TZ100
Dunlop Monza 200
Toyo Tranpath mp3
Goodyear Regatta Touring
Goodyear Ducaro GA
Michelin Energy XM1
Pos-a-traction 93H << current front tyres

Cheers

65 ASPECT IS VERY OLD HAT I use Falken rt615 semi slicks suggest you change to 60 series.then you will be able to get a larger range of directional & asimetric tread paterns
SDT (where I work as a driver trainer part time ) use GT Radials & I can tell you they get a hard time & when we take the students on a hot lap or 2 they are very forgiving & have excellent grip
I've had mine since 03 07 92
85 JB 2323cc DOHC 4G63
THE OLDER I GET THE FASTER I WAS
GROWING OLD IS MANDATORY GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL

Can't find anything listed for GT Radial or Falken that will fit 14" Rims in any close profile and width :(

Take a look at the Sumitomo HTR60 V 215/60R14.

I have them on my 14" rims and did the Grand Prix Rally, some hot laps at Winton & Phillip Island, for a road tyre they did a great job.

Great road tyre and with a bit of extra pressure they'll server you well at track days.

I had Pirelli P6000's once on my old car and they were very nice. Can't remember if they were 65s or 60s though..
