LOL you must be joking right 15%.............I spoke with the dyno tuner when he ran my car, this guy is in his 40's and has been around Mitsubishi's all his life, especially Starion's and Cordia's which is why I choose him even though he's an hours drive away......anyway, I asked him about drivetrain loss in a FWD and he said 25%-30% no if's or buts.

Remember my engine was rated at 170Kw = 119Kw ATW

I achieved only 101Kw, but fuel pressure started dropping off from 3K, > ignition retarded, injectors leaking instead of spraying, plus engine is almost 20 years but comprssion test came up fine, not perfect though.

I can't see drivetrain loss being 15%, I wouldn't mind if it was though :D

What a funny thread. This guy obviously downloaded the ancient EIP tuning Starion video- its "metalic" blue coat makes certain of this. 455 HP in a starion, hmm, the car wud be in magazines, made it into the HPI 1/4 mile drag records etc. May I suggest that posts like these be deleted.

455 rwhp on 15psi with a SOHC engine. Rightttttttttttttttttttttt. Shit I didnt know you get "JA GSRs" considering they were only called JAs in Australia.
With the matlic paint mind you.

His signature might as well be, Hi Im Jarred, I drive my mums Magna on and I only have my Ls, it has sparkly blue paint and does 10.8. 0-100. I CAN PROVE IT!

how about all this then?
I think that if anyone can do a 10 second 1/4 mile in ANYTHING, let alone a Staz, they deserve all of our love admiration and respect.
Kudos, to anyone who can make a 4 wheel piece of machinery go 400m in 10 seconds!
However, before everyone gets on their knees, and gets ready to service someone for having a really fast Starion, let us please see the proof of the pudding.
Show us the time sheet, or even better, some video footage.
Some people talk a lot of sh*t, but sometimes they speak the truth.

no need to brag please. So you have a 180sx, good for you.
But never forget where you were, and who helped you out when you were down.
The 180sx is the logical replacement for a Starion, and you are not the only former Starion owner to make the transition, but I just have one question...How much power does your cat converter soak up?

As far as car choice goes

From NZ I chose a 1985 Starion because I love the cars. I have a lot more choice being in NZ, including R32/33/34 Skylines, EVO Lancers, VR4, VR4 EVO, Supra 3.0TT, list goes on forever, and I pick a Starion because I like it's 80's style, its wicked cornering ability factory, and the strong engine.

Cost of upgrading my Starion, is equal to the cost of purchasing a GSR Evolution Lancer, but bleh, I like the Staz. 180SX never crossed my mind, but never been fond of Nissan (altho 300ZX is awesome, can get 600hp out of those bastards on stock internals, yum yum)
