Commodore VS Vs. JA Starion

Post by oped »

My mate reckons his VS Commodore Acclaim [auto](entirely stock except extractors) will beat a stock JA Starion.
What do you guys think. Try not to be biased

I've noticed you mention your "mates say this..." alot, basically this is to open ended...in a straight line I would pick the VS around the dandenongs the starion would kill it - absolutely no doubt.

hope that helps.

My JA has perfect motor - FMIC - forgies - high flow head but...rusted front guards and keyed on every panel. Time to get serious or time to take it to the tip.

One of the guys I work with had a 195Kw HSV VS commodore.

My starion is bog stock no mods at all, kept up with him until 80 km/hr then he was gone!

The next day he praised my efforts! :x

Depends on what kind of race..........

Straight line, or twisty stuff?

Straight line...would be close, but the VS would pull away pretty convincingly

Twisty..... JA would be gone, until the VS caught up in the straights..

starion and VS have similar quoted 1/4 mile times, but it all depends on the driver. if u launch the starion right it'd be close..

Stock boost level on the stazz would give the VS a good chance, but a good Stazz engine with 13-14psi, i'd have my money on the Stazz!

these posts make me sad that those bogans in their VS are quicker than alot of our starions...how embarrassment.

I've raced a vs v6 auto, be it from 60 km, had about half a car on it
very little done to my car (10 psi boost, still had standard dump pipe with 2.5" exhaust) and I had one extra person in the car (Dr Death).

Good call...

Also if the stock starion nearing 25 years old is running well... and a VS (V6) is also stock... it would be close.. I'm tiping the starion (we are all bias here... and if your not.. then please leave :D )

Boost the Staz a bit and it should take win
