WRX wagon

Post by www.18u »

Yep i know its a swear word on this forum but im thinking of selling the cosmo to buy one as i have just bought a boat and need something to tow it.Plus i have a cattle dog which cant come in the cosmo but could ride in the back of the rex.Anyone had bad experiences with them? Im looking at at the last of the first shape MY00 i think?

P.S. or i buy a widebody put a towbar on it and fold the backseat down and put the dog in the back. :D

Post by Miss GSR »

sorry to all animal lovers but have you no respect for your car? :glare:
i relise you probably have'nt got the wrx yet, but it'l ruin the interior!!!
dogs belong outside or if you cant leave your pets at home buy a ute, sorry for swearing.
p.s dont get me wrong-- i do have a soft spot for dogs but I love my car more

As much as I love the Starion...A WRX just for a dog....Seems a bit weird to me... Each to their own, but firstly I wouldn't be giving up a Cosmo for a WRX, and secondly if I had a WRX, I'd never be letting my dog near it. I won't even let a dog in the Starion, and it's fully stripped out. It's a respect thing for the car....Treat it like crap, it'll repay the favor 10 fold.

Get a widebody for any reason - even an auto for the towing!!! The 2.6L
has more than enough torque to handle it. Do it in style :)

A few seat covers and blankets should solve the pet issue. I mean we're
talking about a 15 year old car, not a brand spanker!

Auto widebodies are reasonably cheap! Probably well under 9K landed.

Get a widebody! and yeah, a blanket in the back does wonders.

Not sure about this drastic respect for cars thing and how it relates to dogs, your car isn't going to break down if you put your dog in the back.

i dont mean to buy one just for the dog but it was just another reason as to why i should sell the cosmo.I love the car but it is not that practical and i dont think its fair to drill holes in a car that is that rare and a rex is better for a slippery boat ramp.

Im not saying that im selling the car for the dog it was just one of the reasons that i thought a rex would be better.I don't let the dog in the cosmo but if i have to take him to the vet or something similar i think a rex wagon would be more practical with some blankets in the back of course. Plus i don't want to drill holes in a car that is so rare just so i can tow a boat.

Sorry to offend your pets, but regardless of how old or how expensive or what ever your car is, pets leave a awful nasty smell in the car, just because you cant smell it does not mean its not there.

Anything stinks if it's dirty, but if you keep your dog clean, then it wont smell out your car.

A WRX wagon would be the go, if your dogs not well behaved though it can make seeing out the back a chore (but if there's a boat behind your car, i guess it wont make any difference). You can even get a seat belt/harness thingy for larger dogs which'll keep em in place and not slobbering over your shoulder.

hey www.18u

you asked the good points about WRXs and the dog was not first on your list.
A mate Josh just got one, the wagon is pretty good, and holds alot more than a starion. Also the thing is very fast and quite reliable! I had a Rottie and she is well kept and DOESN'T smell out my Camry (yes Flav the Ferrari).

Also not to mention the host of aftermarket parts for REX's is something to keep in consideration.

Cheers Dave
My JA has perfect motor - FMIC - forgies - high flow head but...rusted front guards and keyed on every panel. Time to get serious or time to take it to the tip.
