Ok JA Boy.
First Q. Do you have P's already?
Second Q. Are you on Green P's yet?
I got my first starion the first day I was on my Green P's, so that is ok. However, new NSW ruling is that ALL starions are banned for P Platers except for current holders. So Unless you are on your greens, dont bother. I say this, because if you are on your reds, you can drive the starion until you get your greens, when you will be switched to the new system, and no longer allowed to drive the car.
Hope that helps.

They werent bombs...they were attempted explosives...or something similar...gotta love the word selection.
Green P's are the P2 system that we have in NSW. Basically you are on your L plates for 6-12 months (until you are 17) at which time you progress to P1 (or Red P's). 12 Months later (minimum) and you can progress onto your P2 plates which hold different restrictions in terms of driving speed, etc otherwise known as Green P's. Then 2 years minimum of being on greens (ie, when you are 20) and you can hop off onto a full license.
All Starions banned for P's due to high power. Stupid RTA blanket banned all cars with "turbo" in the name, which granted a modded Starion definetly should be included in. If he is on P1 currently, he is allowed to drive a starion until he changes to P2, at which point his license is revised and changed over to the new system that prohibts P1 and P2 from driving turbo charged or other high powered vehicles.
If he is on P2 there is no problem (current P1 or P2 holders are not affected until they have to renew or change their license type at which point they are governed by the new rules), as he can get his starion and drive it for 2 years and then progress to full license where the restrictions don't apply.

Quote- You sure that's better? Last time i was over Adelaide way I noticed that the P platers were totally crazy on the roads.
You cant judge the bulk of us based on some 60km/h driving city dickheads, who never have the chance to drive on a real road (110km's).
Note to self: Dont mention that licence was extended for 12 months,
wait did I think that or type it. . . .

Over here... at 15 you can go for your learners, after 6 months your permitted to go for you restricted license (not allowed passengers or to drive past 10pm) and after 18months on your restricted (or 12 months if you do a defensive driving course) you may go for your full, so over here you can get your full when your 16 and 1/2
Watch your speed - It's virtually impossible to pick it out of the carpet if it gets blown off the table.

Does that result in many accidents in young drivers over there? I know it is a problem here, and as much as the RTA and the government seem to want to think it is a problem with the age of the drivers and the cars that they own, I believe it is a mentality and demographic problem here. Too many fully sik car owners trying to be cool and getting into strife.
Interesting how the government didnt mention the age of the restricted drivers in NZ when they had their campaigns about how good the NZ driver scheme is, no offence to NZ government or road authority intended.
