Hi Guy's

Iv been off line for some time now as my work's webmarshall kept on blocking me.

Since my last visit i have made a few executive decissions.

Im going circuit racing :D the class is Impoved Production or as CAMS know it 3J

The car has been stripped and goes for a weld in cage in 6 weeks.
I have purchased a Galant VR4 EVO RS engine. I will be building it with Venoilas Pistons, Eagle Rods and heaps of other good bits. I have to run a 36mm restrictor on the turbo during race events, then i can change maps on the computer to run without a restictor :) The exhaust will be running out the side of the car with no mufffler, the wastegate will be external type with a screamer pipe. I haven't made a decision on what Turbo to get :?

I cant wait to get it up and running, the best thing is it will still be road registered (Class B) so i can drive it to from events.

Nice, does the evo 0 rs head have bigger ports?

Not sure about the port sizes, but they have EVO 3 cams and a much larger Plenum and intake manifold. The exhaust manifold is a bit different and it has a TD05 16g Turbo.

VR4, RS, EVO0, EVO1,EVO2,EVO3 all had the exact same camshafts. Its an urban myth that they are different - same casting marks, same part number from Mitsi. According to NZMMC, and Mitsubishi's CAPS software I have :)

But the ports on that engine will be bigger than any EVO3 motor.

Turbo it comes with (if its a genuine EVO0) is the EVO3 big 16G too which is a plus. Even if ya bin it, still be worth some extra coin for the project :)

Cant wait to see the first Barney on the track video :D Ive never actually seen an in-car vid of a VR4'd Staz. So please make one :D

Who are Venoilas? expensive? another forger?

yes, was going to point that out about the cams..:) :) ..... VR4 has the largest ports from the vr4-evo3 family I believe.

Thanks for that, Its becomes unclear as I get all sorts of info, either way it will go like stink.

The intake manifold has ECI INJECTON and TURBO written on it, the normal VR4 has CYCLONE and TURBO on it. Yes the ports are huge :)

The turbo is a 16g and has already gone.

I will be having a Video Camera mounting installed when the cage goes in.

Venolia are an American company that make performance pistons ect www.venolia.com
