My car is trying to stay rice free and well.... this is pretty dam ricey, it puts more weight on the car, is there for looks and looks only, but i love it anyway.

You could cut most of the panel out, and replace with fibreglass. Definately not road legal (here anyway becuase of the seatbelt thing). But could be done :)
or what would be legal, grinding off the thick Mitsi steel and replacing it with a thinner lighter metal. Obviously saftey in an accident drops there, but I doubt it would be below 'acceptable levels'. Most cars Ive owned you could lean on the door and it'd bend in and then spring back. To get a Starion door to do that requires a bat.
