models

Post by sirusdash »

hey guy's not sure if you have seen this web site but it tells you all models produced, you will need to use a online translation so we can read it cause it's not in English. But tells you about the models and production

:D finally my starion is semi going, hehe but still lots of work to do...

Interesting that it claims there were different production streams for Europe and for "General Export" - I always thought the NZ new starions were purely European-spec, and the 4 production streams were:
  • Australian (JA JB JD)
  • Japanese (GSR-*)
  • Europe (EX etc)
  • USA (TSi, ESiR etc)

ProZac wrote:I can understand your skeptiscism, but ive heard from more than 5 sources now that this car does infact have 4WS. It resistered as a "1985 Mitsubishi Special", and was imported from japan in 1986 (All the information i gathered from the rego stocker in the windshield). They were one of the very first runs of the widebody, and only 4 were made. They were all imported to New Zealand as parts (importing cars was very rare at the time), and re-assambeled. The other 3 have been smashed up over the years. The original owner still owns this one. I couldn't tell you if it had 4 stud, or 5 stud wheels, as the wheels had screw on caps over the studs. The owner seemed pretty cool, i gave him all the details to this site. All 'Hearsay' ofcourse, but ive never actually heard a differing version, from 5 independant sources.
Spoken like a true professional. I hope beyond hope that this car does have the things you mentioned OEM, and I'm drooling over the thought of some pix!!!

I did get the lisence plate number, so i could look up the registered address via that, but i dont know if i have the balls to just rock up and ask to take some snaps... seems a bit stalkerish. I usually have my camera on me, but i loaned it to my folks for the week, ack, what timing!

I wish I lived close enough to drive over, I wouldn't think twice about asking the chap for some pix, what with the car being the most rare Starion on earth and all, I should think he'd understand!
