Silver Widebody Spotted (w/pics)

Post by LxS »

I was just walking back to my car today when this silver beast caught my eye. I decided to flag them down cause it's not often you see a widebody drive past your own! :D

So here it is (sorry about the small camera phone pictures)

Belongs to a guy named Paul. It's a 1989 Starion GSR VR (1 or 50) from Japan.
Anyways referred him to the site so hopefully he will drop in.

Hey wow LxS. I guess this guy must be into Starion's or is it just something he decided to buy because it looked good?

Noooo! (looks out window) Phew..

Nah there's a couple of differences, mine is 2L, GSR-VR is 2.6 (I think?). Also mine has euro-size number plate thing on the front, and the spoiler has STARION in the middle rather than the light. Also it's missing my fullk sik mitsubishi logo mud flaps. Interesting to see it has the same non-electric mirrors - it must only be the US starions that have those?

Yeah he has a 2.6. It's got the 86/87 starion tail lights (same as JB)

The mirrors? I dont know, it noticed that too, They still have a small bit of black rubber trim around them.

Still nice though... especially the 9in rears and 8in front rims... cant even explain how great they look (he has them polished up like a mirror too)

I'd say they are electric mirrors. The Jap imports that had electric mirrors all had the rubber trim bit. The way to tell is to have a look at the mirror casing, its alot thicker on the electric ones. This might be because of a RHD/LHD issue...
