Car engineered - interesting results
Has my car engineered on Tuesday, due to my SR20det and larger brakes. The engineer has approved and listed the following as legal mods on my car (I live in Canberra):
SR20DET
Wilwood 4 spot calipers and NSX disks
Turbo timer
Atmo venting BOV
Pod Filter
He also said my WOLF 3D will be legal (wasn't fitted at the time), I just ave to take the car back to him for a emissons test, but he said that unless it is blowing black, it will pass (depends on year of manufacture) and said that if there is a problem I could just tune it leaner for the test anyway!!
Car goes to the Dyno on Tuesday - hoping for 180-200rwkw, will post dyno sheet once I have it.

I wish it was a wide body, but it is actually a JA.
Turbo is a GT28RS.
Gear box is an S13 SR20DET gearbox with a 'cushioned' button clutch. It is kind of half between a normal clutch and a button clutch. It looks like a button clutch with about a dozen buttons.
Diff is a rebuilt widebody 3.9 LSD with modified half shafts to suit. I bought the diff with the shafts already modified, but I understand that it only required the outer uni joint to be changed.

My 'custom' dump pipe has been fixed (it cracked completely through last time I went to wakefield) but I still failed on noise. Interestingly the engineered test the car at 96db, rta tested the next day and claim it is 101db!!
Engineering cost depends on mods. As I had substantual mods, the car required testing of brakes and handling at higher speeds, so the cost included the use of a track. They also charged more per modification. Cost me $600, but would be a lot cheaper for less mods.
