Had a squiz at a JB for sale today...

Exterior - good condition, a few chips & scratches, small amount of rust under the door sills, but only minor. No rear spoiler, spoiler mount holes filled with silastic...

Interior - mint, very well looked after.

Under bonnet - empty space where the air box should be, and no turbocharger...eh? Wait - the engine looks wrong. OMG, it's an Astron 2.6, and it's carburetted... :shock: ... :cry:

ahh.. dammit.. I know the guy, he lives a street behind me.. kingsway/landsdale right???
apporached him once, had no interest in restoring the car or anything, apperatnly the turbo blew on the 2l and he saw this as a logical repair.

Damn good guess, Tom - you're right. I didn't think there were that many clues!

The guy wanted ~$2600 for it. It was kind of on the way to work, so I thought I'd drop in and have a look. Made me all depressed instead...

hmmm, I saw a MINT red one at red rooster on Whitfords ave about a month back, stopped and talked to the guy (I think the sylvia thats parked otu the front is his car now) he was selling that for around 3k and it had a brand new panel and paint job.... didnt get his # or anything tho..:(

I haven't seen the red one - must have my eyesight checked, because I live in that area :)
