Removing handbrake cables

Post by fr335tyl3r »

Hey all,

I have a trolley jack now :D yay...but just wondering what you think is the easiest way to remove the handbrake cable from the brake caliper aperatus? If it is too complicated im gonna drive it down to the local garage and get the boys down there to do it all for me once i get some new cables made up...

Any advice would be great

Thnx

piece of piss, take out the split pin, then push out the metal lug (dont know technical name)and your done, its not complicated just alot of stuffing around and swearing when you go to replace it.
once its of the callipers there are two other bolts which are farliy self explantory.
removing the cable from the handbrake is just like changing bike brake cables.
I hope i havnt left anything out
good luck

Why get new ones made up.

I have a set here (for sale) which are still in perfect nick. Fit straight in.

PM if you're interested.

Cheers
