Head ready to put on

Post by Barney »

Today i was all excited as i was about to put my head back on. Its just been ported, Big cam, Double valve springs and adjustable cam gear.

But it wasn't to be, The head gasket is wrong :( I bought a genuine Mitsi Gasket, it cost about $160. When i orderd it the guy said its the right one, i thought at the time that it all seemed a bit easy.

What head gasket are most of you guys using with modified engines?
Where did you get it from?

Ashley, contact Warrick at SERCO PTY LTD, smith st Capalaba, Brisbane. He has COMETIC MLS ( multi layer steel) units for your engine for $150 odd, these gaskets have the embossed fire ring ( simmilar to O'ringing the block) and can with stand a boost pressure of 40-60PSI. APC in Brisbane uses these units on there EVO Drag car. If you have no joy PM me and i can get you 1 and ship to you. :beer

I have heard great things about the Cometic head gaskets and would use one if/whenever I build another hi-po engine.
