Cams License question

Post by TomVR4 »

Two questions
1) Do you need to have a normal drivers license in order to get a cams license to race on a track? I have had some people tell me yes and some people say it doesn't matter.
2) is cams license a national thing, or is it different in qld to nsw?

from what i know, you do not need a road license from the rta for a cams license. Mark Skaife got his cams license before he passed his road usage license.. not sure if that was an exception though i guess

No. Plenty of 16 year olds with CAMS licenses. You basicly just pay the money.

But you will need a licence to get your car to and from the track, driven or towed ( can get a bit difficult relying on others).

Good luck

I've done a few events where the kids drive the parents car. So lift covered :)

CAMS is a national thing too, governing body for motorsport in Australia.
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...
