Starions cost between 40K-85K depending on model and options new. The NZ New '87 model, was a pretty extreme Starion (features wise) compared to what most of us own. LSD, ABS, leather, widebody or bodykit (not sure which), intercooled DASH engine, air con. There was one on trademe a while ago, talked to the guy and he wanted $8000.

They were Mitsubishi's executive sports car, and also in 1982 was the fastest 2L car until '88 with the VR4 I beleive. Their price explains the vast rarity of these cars in NZ.
1997 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV 4G63BT
1996 Nissan Maxima VQ30DE (for sale, suit someone who likes the feel of boats when driving)

Spider, good work
NZ new 85K was a narrow body with most of the options as you said. I actually have the NZ Car magazine from 1987 with the article in it. Remember that magazine??

There was two NZ new Starions on Trade me about a month ago. Both for about 5-6K.
Buying something like that is almost more economical than fixing it yourself!!
It wasnt me, nobody saw me do it, you cant proove a thing
