Have fun over there - I wish I was back as it is motorsport season there (except rallying) and rather than living hours away from everything like I am here (Armidale, NSW), I have 2 tracks within an hour of home (Ruapuna/Christchurch, Levels/Timaru).
If you want to see any, check http://www.motorsport.org.nz/Calendar/alldates.html to see when everything is on.

"I used to be frightened by the idea of having a racing accident and not being able to wake up again. Now things are changed. I often fall asleep during a GP, but at least I have the reasonable certainty of being able to wake up, later."

hmm in Christchurch there is the canterbury racing school - check out http://www.racingschool.co.nz/
nothing in dunedin I know about (but could be wrong)
I think there used to be something rally related at the old Race to the sky site in Cardrona (Queenstown) but could find it in a very brief google
