Found this in the Staz

Post by FST4RD »

As the title says, under the rear part of the roof lining I found this sticker with the date 28/10/87 on it. I can only assume that the car would have rolled out the factory sometime after this?
Had a look at JAS's one and had some thing slightly different on it, but was from an older Starion. So what you reckon?

In Japan they use the U.S. system of writing dates so it would read 102887 if it was a date .

They've never really been into recording dates in Japan , the only time it seems to appear is if it's a batch number of a certain part . For example the only date on my Evo is printed on the fuel tank . Generally when someone gives you a year for an imported car , it's a guesstimate based on the model it is .

Same story though , will just tell you when the seatbelts were made . But will be reasonably accurate in determining the approximate build date .

The only way to get a definite date is to contact Mitsubishi archives with the body number .

How? I'm interested to find out when my 4WS car was built. Mitsubishi in NZ don't give a shit about old cars and the only number it has means nothing to them.
