should i?

Post by crshbndct »

swap my 1989 e30 325i for a 1982 starion?

it is actually my old one. i have missed it everyday since i sold it.

only now it has:
230000km.
rebuilt motor
new doors, guards, and a few other bits that were shoddy.
new gearbox
new diff
lowered springs/shocks

it also comes with a few parts that are all brand spanking new:
td05-16g turbo
really nice tubular steam pipe manifold
tial38mm external wastegate
awesome water to air inter cooler setup
300x600x75 air to air intercooler
hks ssqv BOV
rising rate fuel pressure regulator
power steering pump/rack
these bits are second hand but it good nick
racing fuel pump (its is a 910 something, i think 910l/min? or lbs/hour, or whatever)
2x sets of big injectors, 450cc from a vr4 and 550cc from an evo3
1xl300 mpi manifold
1x galant mpi manifold
recaro seats
momo wheel
new hatch with working shocks and contacts for wiper

also comes with a metric assload of spare starion parts, gearboxesx1 diffsx2, shocks(in good nick)x 2 sets front, one set rear, many bumpers, doors, engine pieces etc etc etc

bad bits:
needs a lot of assembly(bonnet, doors, motor needs putting together etc)
high km's
guards and doors are turquouse, rest of car is red

sounds to good to be true?

the car he wants for it is a 1989 325i. its pretty rough, bodywise but only has 130000km, and has nice leather interior

I'd do it. MPI setup + injectors + td05 worth a bit to buy separate. Sounds good. Depends how much you like the beemer!

the beemer is good
but this starion and i got back a long way

how much would a starion with all the bits added properly be worth?

Resale - Hard to put a price on but to get hold of all those bits and pieces would set you back time and money. You'll be able to sell parts you don't need on. I'll take a JB style bumper if there's one there!
I'd go for it if you regretted selling it. My 2c anyway.
