What year did they come out with the 2L?
Interesting that it has the '87 & prior front airdam, but the 88/89 seats.
I've also never understood why it was targeted at the executive market, yet did not get electric mirrors or a 6 speaker stereo.

As far as I am aware the 2L widebody was only released in limited numbers in 1988. Maybe early 1989 but most 89's are 2.6L.

I'm sure as sure that I read that they came out in a very small numbers with the DASH motor as well, like 60 of them.

On a side note, does anyone here have the sweater or lugage :D

OOOHHH, a widey with a DASH motor in it.
I'd give up my GSR-V for one of those!

Yeah they did in Japan. Now that would be a find. Think they were also designated GSR-V or GSR-VR.

Was going to ditch the DASH head for a twin cam setup but thought that they both came out the factory with the same HP albeit the DASH had a slightly smaller turbo... want to see what I can get out of her :D

The first run of Widebodies all had the 4G63 . I have the numbers produced somewhere but it was a only few hundred in total .

Interestingly almost all of them went straight to the UK . Hong Kong and Singapore got only a few .
Strangely in Japan , only 50 were released with the 2 litre , all were DASH motors . They were all designated GSR-VR however the 50 specials in Japan have a special model number .
They were , and still are very sought after in Japan and you have no hope getting one to import . However they are still fairly common ( relatively ) in the UK from what I've been told .

Do you have how many of each starions were built?
Are you able to tell how many GSR V's with DASH motors were produced in '87?

As I mentioned on the other thread , I have those numbers somewhere , but I'm away from home at the moment .

Seriously though if yours is a JE GSR-V , I would not be buggering with it . It's your car , but that's just my feeling on the matter .

I can get the production numbers from Mitsubishi archives in Japan but it's quite a process and I've been down that road with forum members before . . .

There is a Japanese guy who had a website that I think from memory lists production numbers and he had a timeline for all the models as well . I don't have the address anymore , but you may be able to find it if it still exists .

Either way , you have a special car .
